Originally I ran a previous iteration of this blog from 2009 until 2014, at the time I stopped dedicating much time to it and my web hosting service (at the time) had been sold and it felt a good a time as any time to close up my blog.

Since I closed the blog every so often I entertained restoring it and continuing to write, however it never got further than just a thought until recently when I started to learn about Docker and the various virtualization tools that are open source. I thought it might prove to be an interesting side project to restore my blog as part of the learning experience.

Although I had created backups of my previous blog over the years I managed to lose all my backups and as a consequence it appeared as though I would have to start my blog from scratch, however thanks to the Wayback Machine I was able to restore some of my data, unfortunately I was unable to restore some of my important posts such as my 10+ page review of Valkyria Chronicles. In light of this I have decided to re-write the review and to update some of the old articles, for example one of the posts I recovered was discussing Gnome 3.0 (the current version of Gnome is 4 or using its current version numbering scheme - Gnome 44).

Let this be a lesson that it is always imperative to backup your data in some way, shape, or form.

This is a blog that is can and most likely will be all over the place about all sorts of things
